Climate change is the most important challenge faced by our times. We at IPEM believe that we must do our part – and that the private capital industry is part of the solution.
This issue, along with strategies, advice and actions to reduce our impact on the world are constantly being shared in our sessions, events and digital content. And to stay ahead of the game, we decided to go big and launch an important step in the right direction with the support of our partner INDEFI.
Today, we are launching the “IPEM Going Green” strategy, which starts by assessing and mitigating the carbon footprint, and finally keep supporting the private capital industry in a better way of doing business.
Established in 2007, and based in Paris and New York, INDEFI is a leading strategy advisor for the global investment management business. We help asset managers shape their business strategies and build a sustainable competitive advantage. The firm’s expertise spans public and private markets, including infrastructure, private credit and equity, and real estate. A PRI signatory, INDEFI also advises asset managers in developing and implementing differentiated ESG and sustainability strategies.

We are currently gathering data and analyzing IPEM carbon footprint to reduce it big and fast. First finding: close to 70% (this figure is still being reviewed) of our total carbon emissions are caused by our delegates’ travel (air travel in large majority).
The complete analysis of IPEM emissions will be made available on this webpage in the coming months. We will also publish regular updates about our mitigation plans.
