In the Financial Times this week, Per Franzén, who became CEO of Swedish private equity firm EQT in May 2025, said that 80% of private markets firms could be zombie firms over the next decade, managing invested portfolios to exit while struggling to raise fresh capital from investors.
Dawson hits $25 billion milestone

Far from the creek running dry, the structured solutions specialist has seen its AUM surpass $25 billion following the firm’s announcement that it has achieved a final close of over $7.7 billion for its latest fund: Dawson Portfolio Finance 6 LP.

This new club of heavyweight pension funds and insurers, including Legal & General, Aviva, M&G and the Universities Superannuation Scheme, will commit GBP2.6 billion to UK domestic infrastructure and high-growth sectors.
Luxembourg’s private markets quest begins
Luxembourg’s sovereign wealth fund has joined the LP club by making its first foray into private markets to the tune of EUR112 million. The Fonds souverain intergénérationnel du Luxembourg (FSIL) plans to focus on defence and technology sectors, potentially holding EUR100 million in private equity investments by 2030.
