Boeing Boeing Gone

Fasten your seatbelts and prepare for takeoff. Thoma Bravo, a leading private equity technology investor, has touched down on a deal to acquire a portion of Boeing’s Digital Aviation Solutions business.

The all cash deal is valued at $10.55 billion. Assets include Jeppesen, ForeFlight, AerData and OzRunways. Thoma Bravo will be looking to elevate the future growth prospects for the technology platform, while Boeing itself will retain core digital capabilities for aircraft and fleet-specific data. “We are proud to be investing in such an important technology platform in the broader aerospace and defense industry,” said Holden Spaht, a Managing Partner at Thoma Bravo. “With a heritage dating back to the 1930s, Jeppesen has been at the forefront of technological innovation for nearly a century. We are excited to build on this track record and power its next phase of growth.” This is a nice piece of (aero)dynamic dealmaking for the software specialist. Bravo!
