Climate conversations currently convey both a sense of urgency and genuine interest. IPEM will therefore be dedicating an entire session on Jan. 25th to the topic by featuring, for the first time, a Climate Investing Summit – sponsored by Edmond de Rothschild, Indefi, Swen Capital Partners and Tikehau Capital. It will be the highlight of the afternoon, sharing thought-provoking ideas and inspiring transformative actions through shared experiences. Designed to encourage active participation from delegates, the Summit will allow enhanced discussions in small groups. “Climate now spans across all asset classes, with both growing scrutiny on risks and booming interest of investment opportunities. To catalyze stimulating conversations on this key topic is our way to actively contribute to the industry’s shift, as part of our IPEM Going Green initiative.” comments Antoine Colson, CEO and Managing Partner, IPEM.

A real and local example of climate urgency (and resilience!)

The first one, a local French craft brewery, La Brasserie du Comté – located in the Alpes-Maritimes. Storm Alex destroyed the brewery in October 2020. It led the founders having to deal with dramatic consequences and re-build everything from scratch. Which he did with success. Let’s meet on the Venture Pub and during the Mediterranean Bash to taste his beer – Cheers to that!

Mediterranean inspiration

IPEM’s Going Green Initiative will also be evident during the Mediterranean Bash sponsored by DealCloud and Maples Group, a closing drinks reception for private market participants, who will be joined by two local actors who witnessed climate change and took actions for it.

On the other hand, IPEM wants to highlight one of the main actions taken in the Mediterranean Sea and led by the Cannes Foundation: Posidonia Restoration Initiative in the Bay of Cannes. While people are broadly familiar with the ability of rainforests to act as a giant carbon sink, less are aware that the same holds true underneath the oceans. Indeed, the Neptune Grass is three times more efficient to the Amazon rainforest.

The Mediterranean Bash will be held on the outside terraces at the Palais des Festivals, with uninterrupted views of the Bay of Cannes providing an ideal backdrop.

See you there!
