Swift Business, Smart Exit

Well that was swift. Five years after LA-based Shamrock Capital acquired Taylor Swift’s ownership rights to her first six albums for $360 million, the pop megastar has been able to re-acquire them.

“I will forever be grateful to everyone at Shamrock Capital for being the first people to offer this to me,” she wrote on her website. The luck of the shamrock has come to pass for Swift who is now once again master of her own destiny and sole custodian of her art. It’s one of those mic drop moments for the artist whose Eras Tour generated $2 billion in ticket sales alone. Now back to full rights ownership, it looks like a case of full (music) stream ahead for Swift. Question is, will she go ahead and get a shamrock tattoo!
