Lex goes Lux

Okay, time for a frank admission: Franklin Templeton is opening up access to wealth investors with a new private equity secondaries fund.

The global asset manager has been given the green light by the Luxembourg regulator – the CSSF – for an open-ended product which it will co-advise alongside Lexington Partners. Lexington Partners is a prominent US manager which has pioneered the institutional secondary market. The partnership will open the temple doors to individual investors who have historically been unable to tap in to the wealth creation potential of private markets. With demand rising in private wealth to access the best PE funds, one might refer to this key trend as a Temple of Boom! The Franklin Templeton team will be hoping that with Lexington Partners’ investment expertise, this new CSSF-approved fund will prove to be a blockbuster with wealth managers.
